Celebrate
Recovery recognizes the importance of God’s healing power in our
lives. Using the eight recovery principles found in the Beatitudes
and Christ-centered 12 Steps people have the opportunity to
experience lasting change. By sharing personal experiences,
strengths and hopes with each other, people learn how to accept
God’s grace in solving life’s problems.
By
working the Christ-centered steps and applying their biblical
principles found in the Beatitudes, we begin to grow spiritually.
We become free from our addictive, compulsive, dysfunctional
behaviors. This freedom enables us to experience peace, serenity,
joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with
God and others.

Though it's sometimes difficult for us
to admit, we have all lived less than perfect lives. Our good
intentions have failed us again and again as we have hurt people,
hurt ourselves and are left feeling that we are failures as
Christians or even as human beings. As our compulsive or addictive
behaviors progress we find ourselves trapped in habits which lead
us on a treacherous path away from the peace and joy God desires
for us. This may leave us feeling insecure, angry, frightened and
without hope.
No matter what your hurts, habits, or
hang ups may be there is hope! Celebrate Recovery offers a safe,
welcoming, grace filled, Christ-centered fellowship. At Celebrate
Recovery you will find many who are dealing with struggles similar
to your own. You will also find a group of men and women who share
your desire to be made whole.
The foundation of our recovery is our
one and only higher power Jesus Christ. When we keep coming back
and turn our will and our life over to Christ's care, in time our
destructive behaviors loose their grip and we begin to embrace a
new life, enjoying peace and serenity, trusting that God is
guiding our life and our recovery.

Purpose Statement:
The purpose of Saddleback Church's Celebrate
Recovery ministry is to fellowship and
celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the "8
Recovery Principles." This experience allows us to "be
changed." By working and applying these Biblical
principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from
our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This
freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a
stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we
progress through the program we discover our personal, loving
and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ, the one and only true
Higher Power.

John Baker's Testimony---
The only things my hurts, hang-ups and habits cost me were my
close relationship with the Lord and my family. You see,
what I had considered the solution for my life's problem -
alcohol - became the problem of my life! And finally my
drinking cost me all purpose and reason for living. I was
dying physically, emotionally, mentally, and most importantly
spiritually! Read all of John Baker's
